U-PICK PUMPKIN PATCH
Open October 4 - October 27, 2025
11 a.m. - Sundown
Farmer Don Kruger, known for his work at Kruger Farms on Sauvie Island, has been growing pumpkins for over 20 years. Now, even in retirement, he has planted a 1-acre pumpkin patch on his new farm in Maupin. This climate proves to be perfect for pumpkins, and he has cultivated some of the largest and most perfect pumpkins he's ever grown. This year, we've been facing challenges with deer, resulting in a limited supply of our specialty pumpkins. However, we still have plenty of large standard jack-o-lantern pumpkins available.
Stop by our farm stand, visit our little pumpkin patch, and pick out a great pumpkin.
Please note that we will NOT be hosting a Harvest Fair this year.
DUE TO OUR HERD OF DEER, THE PUMPKIN PATCH HAS BEEN MOVED TO THE FENCED AREA IN THE BACK OF THE FARM. FOLLOW THE SIGNS.
We love farming and invite you to stay at our working farm in north central Oregon, just beyond the tree line of the Mt. Hood National Forest and 10 miles from the Deschutes River and the tiny town of Maupin, Oregon. Our farm grows a variety of crops including pumpkins, corn, beans, and melons, and features a farm stand where you can pick up fresh produce. The roaming chickens and pigs are part of our lively menagerie, and our amazing cat, Rocky, keeps the place free of rodents. In the winter, the ski resorts of Mt. Hood are only 45 minutes away, and in the summer, the Deschutes River calls with rafting and fly fishing just 20 minutes in the other direction. If you're a fan of pumpkin patches, our farm is a perfect spot to enjoy the harvest season!
Our family began farming 20 years ago on Sauvie Island outside of Portland, where we were proud to be part of Kruger Farms Sauvie Island. Although we retired, our passion for farming remained strong, and we wanted to continue just a little. We eventually found ourselves in Maupin, Oregon, at the base of Mt. Hood and close to the recreational activities that the Deschutes River offers summer visitors to the region. We even have a small farm stand where we share our love for pumpkins and invite you to visit our Pumpkin patch. Thank you for supporting this tradition.
